I haven't paid attention to battery consumption, just assuming it was doing its job. But I wouldn't know if it was stopping fitness tracking except that it still seems to count my steps (I get a congratulatory notice on my smartwatch every day, anyway. I currently have everything enabled, including aggressive doze, on my unrooted Priv and it causes no problems, even greenifying system apps. I recall that in the past, greenify on an unrooted phone interfered with something I used, but I can't recall what it was. But I don't know whether you can exempt all of the myriad components that surely go into tracking steps and calories and whatnot. Greenify does have the option of exempting apps from hibernation. I don't use fitness trackers, though, so I'm sure I missed that.
Doze vs greenify android#
There was a time when I had a rooted Android phone with Xposed framework and Greenify was fantastic for that. I've had the donate version of Greenify (and amplify-another subject) for a years but made little use of it when I used my Passport as primary and had a locked AT&T Android phone as secondary. I apologize for not reading the thread entirely before posting and thank you for your patient response. If the difference is 20-30 %, then I might be interested.Īh, I didn't think of fitness apps. The consumption while the phone is sleeping is already pretty low and I don't really want to mess with any system settings, adb etc. But I find it hard to see the upside of Agressive Doze. I think it's a great tool, I used it 5 years ago and I recommend it for keeping some apps in check (if you absolutely must use some badly written apps). I'm sure there are other similar potential problems.ĭon't think I'm dissing Greenify. I saw a comment (I believe on the OP's link) saying that his fitness tracker disconnects after a few minutes because of Agressive Doze. Ride or die: PRIVelege-acyThe donwside is that it can create problems for apps. Unless greenify uses a large amount of juice itself I don't see the downside.

Aggressive doze works quickly regardless of movement if proximity shows that the phone is in a confined space (purse, pocket).Įven without aggressive doze, Greenify shuts down apps that are simply causing wakes and using cycles, while monitoring for notifications to be delivered then re awaking those apps. Unless I'm misremembering, doze only works after an extended period sitting still.
